Just in case you are wondering why a father of a beautiful daughter (also a new bride) would want to create a blog on preparing father-of-the-bride speeches, let me give you my reasoning. Like most non-professional speakers, which includes most of us, I was really getting stressed out over having to give a wedding speech. I was obviously very worried about making a fool of myself, and even worse, embarrassing my daughter, Cheryl, on her special wedding day.
The stress and worry got so bad over how to write my father of the bride speech, I decided it was time to take action and go on the offensive. I was hell-bent on finding the most helpful advice and resources that just had to make this speech writing process easier.
Of course I knew I wasn’t unique in stressing out over my wedding speech because I actually heard the same reaction from some of my friends that had gone through the same experience with their daughter’s weddings. The good news was that one of my buddies turned me on to a resource that put it all in perspective and made preparation of my father of the bride speech a real “snap”.
I just thought by sharing this information with other fathers of the bride who are in the same predicament that I was, they could benefit from everything I discovered in my quest to prepare and deliver a real memorable wedding speech that both my daughter and wife would be proud of.
